To get to Woodend from Melbourne,
take the Tullamarine Freeway north. Don't exit to the airport, but
keep going onto the Calder Freeway with directional signs to Bendigo.
After you have passed by Gisborne, take the first exit signed for
Woodend (also signed for Macedon). As you exit the freeway go left
onto Blackforest drive - keep driving and Woodend is another 8
minutes drive. The old pub is on the left as you drive into Woodend
from Melbourne - with the Holgate Bull plastered on the outside !
Total driving time from Melbourne CBD should be about 45
minutes without any traffic delays.
